Plan your arrival
Check-in opens at 10:00 AM on Day 1. Many guests land in Delhi the day before, then take a short morning flight to Dehradun (Jolly Grant Airport), about an hour’s drive from our ashram.
๐
Visa for India
Most nationalities โ including Japan, the USA, UK, EU, Canada and Australia โ can apply for an Indian e-Tourist Visa online. Apply only through the official government website, a few weeks before you travel.
โ๏ธ
Getting to Rishikesh
Fly into Delhi (DEL), then take a 1-hour domestic flight to Dehradun (DED), or travel by road or train via Haridwar. We can help arrange a reliable airport pickup to the ashram.
๐ค๏ธ
Weather in April
April brings warm, sunny days with fresh mornings and evenings by the river โ a lovely time to visit. Pack light cotton clothing plus a shawl or light layer for early meditation.
๐
What to Wear
Choose loose, modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees, especially at temples, the puja and the Ganga Aarti. Slip-on sandals are handy โ shoes come off at every temple.
๐ง
Health & Food
Drink only filtered or bottled water. Our ashram meals are fresh, simple and vegetarian โ gentle on a new stomach. Bring personal medicines and get travel insurance before you fly.
๐ต
Money & Payments
India uses the rupee (INR). ATMs are close to the ashram, and many shops accept cards, but keep some cash for the market, small shops and tips.
๐
Culture & Etiquette
Rishikesh is a holy town โ vegetarian and alcohol-free. Greet people with “Namaste”, remove your shoes before temples and homes, and ask before photographing people or ceremonies.
๐ก๏ธ
Safety & Solo Travel
Our ashram is a quiet, secure spiritual space with 24/7 CCTV, and you are never alone โ our team accompanies every excursion. Many of our guests are women travelling solo; we are always here to help.
